Convert GLB to an animated GIF
Turn a GLB model into a looping turntable GIF in your browser. Materials and textures load with the file, so nothing has to be found separately.
Formats it opens
- GLB
Anything else is refused when you choose it rather than failing halfway through. See every format MeshCrunch supports.
Limits and privacy
- Opens models up to 50 MB without an account.
- Your model is stored privately in your own workspace and deleted after 24 hours unless you sign in.
- Uses none of your processing credits: viewing and spinning a model are done by your browser, not by a server.
Every frame of your GLB turntable is rendered and encoded by this browser, so it costs no processing credits. The file itself goes to your own private workspace, which needs no account and is cleared after 24 hours.
How it works
- 1
Drop in your GLB file
The GLB goes straight to your private workspace and opens on the Turntable tab. No account, and no processing credit.
- 2
Set the spin
Pick a preset, or set duration, direction, resolution and frame rate. The preview is the real renderer, so what you see is what encodes.
- 3
Export a GIF or MP4
Write a looping GIF, an MP4 where your browser has the encoder, or a single PNG still with a transparent background.
What to expect from GLB files
- GLB bundles geometry, materials and textures into a single file, which is why it is the easiest format to preview — there is nothing to go missing.
- Skinned meshes and morph targets render in their bind pose. The turntable rotates the model; it does not play its animations.
- The result is a 2D animation of the model. It is not a converted 3D file.
Frequently asked questions
Will the GIF play my GLB's animation?
No. The camera orbits a static model, and animated GLBs render in their bind pose. If the file's motion is the thing you want to show, record it in the tool that authored it — a turntable shows form, not performance.
Why does my GLB look darker than it does in Blender?
The tool lights the model with its own neutral studio environment rather than the one your scene was authored under. PBR materials react to lighting, so a metal or a rough surface will read differently. Switch backdrops in the export panel to find one that suits the material.
My GLB is over the size limit. What can I do?
Optimize it first. A GLB is usually large because of texture resolution or triangle count; simplifying the mesh reduces the second, and the result is a smaller GLB you can bring straight back here.
Where does my GLB file go?
To private storage only you can reach, so the workspace can open it — never anywhere public, and deleted after 24 hours unless you sign in. The animation itself is rendered and encoded by your own browser, which is why it uses no processing credits.
