Terms of Service

By creating an account, or by submitting a file for server-side processing without one, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not upload anything. Reading these pages creates no agreement on its own, but every tool that opens a model — including the standalone viewer and the GIF maker, whose rendering is local — uploads that model first.

If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it, and "you" means that organisation.

The service is operated by Puneet Mishra, trading as MeshCrunch. MeshCrunch is a trading name, not a separate legal person; the operator named above is the party to this agreement.

All correspondence, including legal notices, should go to support@meshcrunch.com. We do not publish a postal address; if you need one for service of formal notice, ask at that address and we will provide it.

You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account. MeshCrunch is a professional tool and is not directed at children.

• Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider. You are responsible for keeping those credentials secure.
• You are responsible for everything done under your account, including by anyone you give access to.
• Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
• You may also use the service without an account. An anonymous session is identified by a token we sign, and anything uploaded under it belongs to that session until you sign in and claim it.

MeshCrunch stores 3D models you upload and processes them on our servers: mesh simplification and level-of-detail chain generation, with a choice of output format. It also provides an in-browser viewer and turntable exporter that run entirely on your own machine.

Features not listed on the pricing page as available are not part of the service, whatever else you may have read. Programmatic access is in beta on paid plans, through a REST API and the MeshCrunch MCP server. Both resolve to the same account, plan and quotas as the web app. REST callers authenticate with an API key created in Studio under Settings and can upload assets directly; MCP clients connect with your MeshCrunch login and work on assets already in the account. There is no SDK and there are no webhooks, so a caller polls for completion.

Limits are enforced by the API rather than merely displayed, and which ones apply depends on the account the work is done under. The bullets below are the whole set for each state, not examples:

• Without an account. 50 MB per file, 3 processing credits per rolling 24 hours, 1 GB of processed data per calendar month, and 1 job running at a time. Files are deleted after 24 hours unless you sign in before then, which claims them onto your account and applies its window.
• On a free account. 50 MB per file, 10 processing credits per rolling 24 hours, 1 GB of processed data per calendar month, 250 MB of storage, 1 job running at a time, and files kept 7 days.
• On Starter. 250 MB per file, 500 processing credits per month, 25 GB of processed data, 5 GB of storage, 2 jobs running at a time, and files kept 30 days.
• On Pro. 1 GB per file, 2500 processing credits per month, 100 GB of processed data, 25 GB of storage, 5 jobs running at a time, and files kept 90 days.

On a paid plan the credit and processed-data allowances reset with your billing period rather than on the first of the month. See Data Retention for how the retention windows above are applied.

How each of those is measured:

• File size is checked against the file that actually arrived, and anything over the limit is deleted rather than stored.
• Processed data is the size of the mesh each pass reads — a LOD chain counts once per level, because every level is built from the original.
• Processing credits are charged as a base cost multiplied by the size band of the verified source file. The base is one credit for a simplify, one for a conversion, and one per level an LOD chain generates; the bands and the resulting cost are published on the FAQ and shown before you submit a job. Viewing, comparing and turntable export cost nothing at any file size.

We may change these limits. A reduction that affects stored content will be announced before it takes effect.

You keep all ownership of the 3D models you upload. MeshCrunch claims no ownership of them, and no ownership of the outputs generated from them. You confirm you own the content you upload or otherwise have the rights to store and process it.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, inspect where technically required, transform, and create derivatives of your models solely to provide the service you have requested — to hold them in your library, run the jobs you start, generate outputs, and deliver those outputs back to you.

The licence covers nothing else. In particular: it grants no right to use your models to train machine-learning models, and we do not do so. It ends when you delete the content or it reaches the end of its retention window.

Your use must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these terms. It prohibits, among other things, uploading content you do not have the rights to, uploading files crafted to attack our parsers, and circumventing plan limits.

The Free plan requires no payment and no card. Paid plans, where offered, are sold and processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record: you pay Paddle, Paddle invoices you, and Paddle issues any refund. Puneet Mishra, trading as MeshCrunch operates the service itself.

• Price. The price shown at checkout is the price charged, in the currency shown, and includes any tax Paddle is required to collect for your location. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
• Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same interval until cancelled. Paddle emails a receipt for every payment.
• Cancellation. Cancel at any time from Account → Manage billing. No further payment is taken, paid features remain active until the end of the period already paid for, and the account then reverts to Free.
• Refunds. A first payment is refundable in full within 14 days. Renewals are not refundable, because cancelling before a renewal date prevents the charge. The full policy is at /refunds.
• Failed payment. Paddle retries a failed renewal and emails you. While a subscription is past due, paid features are unavailable — but the subscription is not cancelled and nothing is deleted.
• Downgrade. Reverting to Free applies the Free plan's limits from that point. Assets already stored keep the retention deadline they were given; new uploads and results get the Free window. Being over the Free storage cap refuses new uploads rather than deleting anything.

Availability of paid plans on this deployment is published on the pricing page. Where checkout is not offered, no clause in this section creates a payment obligation. Starter and Pro are sold through Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Checkout, fulfilment and the billing portal are available wherever billing is configured for the deployment. Prices are shown in your local currency at checkout, and every published allowance is enforced by the API.

Anything labelled Beta or Coming Soon on this site is exactly that. Beta features may change or be withdrawn without notice, and should not be relied on in a production pipeline. A feature marked Coming Soon does not exist yet and must not be treated as part of the service.

Mesh simplification is lossy by design: it removes geometry. We make no guarantee that an optimized mesh is visually or structurally identical to the source, that it preserves any particular attribute, or that it is fit for a specific engine, pipeline, or manufacturing process. Always inspect an output before shipping it.

Known limitations are documented rather than hidden: hard edges defined only by split normals are smoothed, tangents are not carried through, surface reconstruction discards materials, textures and UVs and re-samples colour onto a surface it rebuilt, and a textured source exported as OBJ keeps geometry but not images. Jobs report these as warnings.

Do not use MeshCrunch as the only copy of anything. Your original file is never modified and stays in your library exactly as uploaded, but storage here is a working area with a retention window, not an archive. Keep your own backups.

Outputs are not certified for safety-critical, structural, medical, or manufacturing use. Decimated geometry is an approximation; validate it yourself before any such application.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". There is no service-level agreement and no uptime commitment. Jobs can fail — because a mesh cannot be parsed, because a tool exceeds its time budget, or because of an outage. A failed job never destroys your source asset; it stays in your library and you can try again.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service. Where a change would remove access to stored content, we will give notice by email to accounts with a verified address, and on this site.

We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. Where the situation allows it we will contact you first; where it does not — an active attack, or a legal obligation — we will act immediately and tell you afterwards.

You may stop using the service at any time and delete your assets from your library. To have the account record itself removed, email support@meshcrunch.com; Deleting every asset removes all uploaded content; removing the account record itself is handled by support on request.

On termination, the licence in section 8 ends and your stored content is deleted on the schedule in Data Retention.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any output will meet your requirements.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, or lost or corrupted data, even if advised of the possibility. Because processing is lossy by design, and any fee you pay is small next to the value of the work you run through it, this allocation of risk is a basis on which the service is offered at all.

You will indemnify and hold harmless Puneet Mishra, trading as MeshCrunch against claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from content you upload, from your breach of these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or from your infringement of a third party's rights.

These terms do not specify a governing law or an exclusive forum for disputes. Nothing here removes any protection available to you under the mandatory law of your country of residence, or your right to bring a claim before a court competent under it.

Before starting formal proceedings, please email support@meshcrunch.com. Most things are faster to fix than to litigate.

We may update these terms. Each version carries a version identifier and date at the top of this page, and the version you accepted is recorded against your account or session. For a material change we will ask you to accept the new version before your next server-side job, and will notify accounts with a verified email address at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after that is acceptance.

• These terms, together with the Acceptable Use Policy and the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us about the service.
• If a provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
• Our not enforcing a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of it.
• You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, on notice.
