We ask before storing anything, and the three categories are kept separate so that allowing one does not require allowing the others. Advertising in particular is its own answer: agreeing to be counted is not agreeing to be matched to an ad profile, and we do not read one as the other.

Session identity. Declining means we never create the anonymous session, so the workspace and the free browser tools are unavailable — an upload with no session cannot be attributed to you, and the tools sit behind the same gate for consistency. Every public page, including this one and all the policies, works normally.

Anonymous page counts. Declining means the analytics script is never loaded. Nothing else changes: it is not a condition of using the product, and pairing it with access would make any "agreement" to it meaningless.

Advertising. Declining means the Reddit pixel is never added to the page and nothing about your visit reaches Reddit. If you allow it and then change your mind here, we stop reporting immediately and delete the cookie it set; the script itself is already in the page you are on and cannot be removed from it, but it is not loaded again on any later page. Nothing about what you can use depends on this answer.

The public website can count page views through Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and builds no profile, and Google Analytics, which does set a cookie. Neither is used inside the signed-in workspace.

The Google tag is present on every page, but it is told to store nothing until measurement is allowed — it opens in a denied state and is only ever raised from there. Vercel Web Analytics is not loaded at all until then.

How you are asked depends on where you are. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland nothing is allowed until you choose. Elsewhere, continuing to use the site is taken as agreement, and you can turn measurement off here at any time.

We advertise MeshCrunch on Reddit, and the Reddit pixel is how we tell whether those ads bring anyone here. It records that a visit or a sign-up happened and reports it to Reddit, which matches it against the ad click that led here. That is a genuine sharing of data with another company, and it is why advertising is a separate question on this page rather than part of the measurement one.

The pixel is not on the page unless it has been allowed. That is different from the Google tag above, which loads for everyone and is told to store nothing until measurement is permitted — Reddit's pixel has no equivalent restrained state, so the only meaningful way to decline it is for it not to be there. It is never loaded inside the signed-in workspace.

We do not send Reddit your email address, phone number, or any account identifier. Reddit's own setup recommends it; we have chosen not to, so the only thing shared is that an anonymous browser reached a page.

You can also block these at the browser level rather than here. The effect is the same: without the anonymous-session cookie an upload cannot be associated with you, and without the sign-in cookie you cannot stay signed in. The consent record itself is stored locally, so clearing site data makes us ask again.
